Dan Andrews introduces even MORE tough Covid restrictions for Victoria as cases surge – here’s what you need to know about the new rules

Density limits will be brought back on hospitality venues while residents are also expected to be told to work from home.

Health Minister Martin Foley will announce the changes at midday on Thursday but they are expected to mirror similar restrictions introduced in NSW before the New Year.

These changes saw pubs and restaurants be limited to one person per 2sqm and patrons were encouraged to not mingle with other groups while out.

Daniel Andrews’ government had already declared that as of Thursday, category two and three elective surgery would be paused.

Emergency surgery will still be allowed.
